Anthurium Clarinervium
Base Species or Cultivar:
Cultivar Origin:
This hybrid was produced through seed germination at our greenhouse E.F.G. Orchids. Pollen was removed from Anthurium Clarinervium, and then applied to Anthurium Faustomirandae. The fruit took almost two years to ripen, and the seedlings began to germinate close to two months after being sown.
Name Origin:
The name was chosen to express the gigantic nature of this new hybrid; which displays a beautiful crystal leaf pattern, similar to its' pollen parent Anthurium Clarinervium.
Growth Habit:
Terrestrial Growth Habit.
Leaf Blade:
Mature leaves of this plant maintain a thick, leathery texture like the seed parent Anthurium Faustomirandae. The crystal patterns of the pollen parent, Anthurium Clarinervium, are most prominent in the emerging leaves of each specimen of Anthurium Titanervium. The patterns of each new leaf begin to fade slightly as the leaf hardens off into maturity. However, the patterns are fading less and less as each plant matures. The leaf shape is very similar to the parent, Anthurium Clarinervium.
Bloom and Fruit:
Spadix, enclosed by a spathe. Produces Berries.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This new hybrid grows much more vigorously than its pollen parent Anthurium Clarinervium. Like its seed parent, Anthurium Faustomirandae, it is a very hardy and durable plant with very large thick leaves. Anthurium Titanervium displays the best traits of both parents, and the traits of this hybrid have remained consistent among all of our seedlings.
